What do you think when you hear the term “Florida Man?” This term has become a warning sign that you’re about to learn about a crazy and unbelievable story.
People do strange things every day. Whether you watch the show COPS or another show like it, you probably have seen things happen on these shows that you would never expect to see. The same concept can be applied to the many Florida Man stories that seem to make their way across the internet faster than the speed of light.
Here are a few wild and wacky stories that seem too odd to be true, but they are.
Humping and Punching
How far out of your mind do you have to be to hump a tree? One man was arrested for doing just that, but he didn’t simply hump the tree in a lewd, fully clothed body manner; he was also naked at the time. As deputies described it, the mane was “hugging and hip thrusting” a tree while completely naked. Before being arrested, the man ran into the street and nearly got hit by a car. Once deputies got to him, he punched one of them in the face, adding another charge to the list he will receive for such an obscene public display.
Pooping On An Opossum
We’ve all heard of little kids accidentally taking a dump in a toilet at Lowe’s or Home Depot, but this incident involved a Florida Man and a dead marsupial. A 45-year-old man was arrested for pooping on a dead opossum in the middle of rush-hour traffic. This means the man’s rear was out and exposed for all to see. The police report detailed the event as the man “was observed defecating on a deceased opossum with his pants lowered and high anal region exposed.” Who would have liked to be the arresting officer for this incident?
Calling 911 for Stolen Weed
Women can get in on the wild and strange stories; the oddities of the world don’t discriminate by gender. A Florida woman was arrested when she called police to report a friend had stolen her weed. When cops arrived to interview her, she had some marijuana on her and also had two outstanding warrants. The amount of stolen weed was about $30, but you can bet the charges against her will add up to much more than that now that she’s in custody.
Trucker Beef
In true Florida Man fashion, a semi-truck driving on I-95 in Florida was seen with a man holding onto the hood near the windshield for dear life. This event was captured in a video shared to X by Billy Corben, and in the video, you can see the man holding onto the windshield wiper as the truck driver attempts to shake the man free and send him off the truck. What occurred to cause this man to be on the hood is a mystery, but it’s one of those stories that you might say “only in Florida.”
The Voices Told Me To
One man chose to rob the same Dollar General twice in two consecutive days. Many of us might claim to have voices in our heads, but if those voices don’t have good ideas, should we act on them? Apparently, the voices in this man’s head told him to rob the same store two days in a row, and he was later arrested and charged with robbery. An employee of the store recognized the man from a robbery that occurred two years earlier. This means the man robbed the same Dollar General three times. Someone should tell him that the store is not his personal ATM.
The crazy, the weird, and the unique happen every day. Sometimes, you know the stories of Florida Man events involve people who are out of their minds, but other times, it seems some people just end up in tough-to-understand situations. What’s your take on these stories?
