On sale now from Disney is the final four episodes of The New Yoda Chronicles LEGO animated series.
Included on the DVD are the four episodes, “Escape from the Jedi Temple,” “Race for the Holocrons,” “Raid on Coruscant,” and “Clash of the Skywalkers.” In addition to the four episodes is an alternate Dark Side ending to “Clash of the Skywalkers.”
The writer behind the LEGO Star Wars animated series Michael Price returns to pen these four episodes with a silly and irreverent take on the galaxy far, far away.
Your favorite Star Wars heroes are back with four complete episodes (plus a bonus alternate ending!) that unleash the lighter side of the Force.
After headstrong Luke nearly delivers the good guys into Palpatine’s clutches, Master Yoda and the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi unearth the Holocrons – last remnants of the secrets of the Jedi – to further Luke’s training. But Darth Vader also seeks the Holocrons, and he’ll stop at nothing to get to them first! Meanwhile, courageous superclone Jek-14, a Force-sensitive clone, comes out of retirement to help bolster the Rebels. Share all the action-packed thrills of these interlocking, intergalactic adventures in LEGO® STAR WARS: The New Yoda Chronicles!
While one of the recurring characters in the series, Jek-14 annoys me (he is basically the Star Wars equivalent of The Simpson’s Poochie) I enjoy the comedic take on the Original Trilogy characters. A highlight of these episodes is C-3PO in full action hero mode.
All in all this is a series that probably plays better to a younger audience than myself, which also likely informs the decsision to release it only on DVD and not on blu-ray.
