Phineas-and-star-wars

In a press release issued yesterday Disney Channel has revealed information about the “PHINEAS AND FERB: STAR WARS” special but there was also Star Wars Rebels news in the press release.

While the Phineas and Ferb special will premiere on Disney Channel and the Watch Disney Channel App in July, it will also be rebroadcast on August 4th on Disney XD as part of a night of Star Wars themed programming.

Disney XD’s August 4th Lineup:

MONDAY, AUGUST 4

Star Wars-themed Night on Disney XD includes (all times ET/PT) the following:

7:00 p.m. – “Kickin’ It”

“Seaford Hustle” – Milton accidentally falls asleep during part of his college acceptance exam and fears his dreams of going to the elite Oxbridge University are ruined, until he meets Tom, the President of the Skull and Bones, a powerful brotherhood that can help him gain admittance to Oxbridge. When he discovers Tom has an evil agenda to steal an original Star Wars lightsaber on display at the mall, Milton must decide how far he is willing to go to achieve his dream.

7:30 p.m. – Premiere of “Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars” with live simulcast and next day on demand viewing on WATCH Disney XD for verified users.

An extended first look at “Star Wars Rebels” will debut immediately following the special. “Star Wars Rebels” is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Still no announcement of the premiere of Star Wars Rebels, but it sounds like we are going to get a pretty significant bit of the the show to watch on August 4th. Possibly this will be a segment that could shown to fans at San Diego Comic-Con.

It is clear with all of the cross promotion and different channels that Disney is using that they are putting some serious muscle behind Star Wars Rebels.

  1. Hopefully they won’t give Rebels short shrift in the long run like they did with Tron Uprising, or one hiatus after another like Gravity Falls. =/
